Tories toss up late campaign hail mary with #BarbaricCulturalPractices

In what can only be described as a late-game campaign “hail mary”, the Conservative Party of Canada announced Friday that a “re-elected Conservative government would enact a number of measures to help the RCMP enforce the recently passed Zero Tolerance for Barbaric Cultural Practices Act and provide new funding to help fight against forced marriages of young girls abroad”. Using the guise of “not being afraid to defend Canadian values” Ministers Kellie Leitch and Chris Alexander said a new tip line would be set up for reporting violations of the act.

I mean, it’s pretty clear they’re just catering to their bread and butter supporters now, right? Hello?! Hmmm…a hotline for Canadians to report personal suspicions of oh-so-vague Barbaric Cultural Practices…what could possibly go wrong? Surely there’s not one hole in this foolproof CPC plan!

And then #BarbaricCulturalPractices happened….

Check back as the #BarbaricCulturalPractices continue!
